You'll work alongside a physician lead to ensure continued education and career development, and have the opportunity to work independently in a remote setting.
In this role, you'll be responsible for accurately assigning all reportable diagnoses and procedures for complete and accurate coding of a medical record, per Official Coding and Reporting Guidelines. You'll work to promote a partnership between clinical documentation and financial outcomes, ensuring accurate DRG assignment (MSDRG and/or APRDRG) on accounts coded.
The successful candidate will have an Associate degree in Health Information Technology with AHIMA Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credential preferred, and a minimum of 3 years of acute inpatient hospital coding experience. You'll have experience with electronic health records (i.e., Cerner, Meditech, Epic, etc.) and 3M or TruCode encoder software required.
To ensure adherence to HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures, you'll need a dedicated secure workspace with a high-speed internet connection and a telephone. The company will provide a laptop and access to necessary resources to perform job duties.
